Protect your cover

Keeping your warranty valid

  • Service on time

Have your car serviced at the intervals in your service schedule – fixed or flexible.
  • Use Genuine Parts

Non-genuine parts that cause a failure can void the warranty on the affected components.
  • Keep the records

Every service we carry out is logged in your digital Volkswagen service history.
  • Act on warning lights

Continuing to drive with a red warning light can turn a warranty repair into an excluded one.
  • Check before modifying

Remaps, non-approved accessories and towbars can affect cover – ask us first.
  • Report faults promptly

Warranty covers defects reported during the cover period; do not wait for the next service.

FAQs

Warranties – your questions answered

How long is the warranty on a new Volkswagen?

Three years or 60,000 miles, whichever comes first. The first two years have no mileage limit; the third year is capped at 60,000 miles.

Does servicing outside the dealer network void my Volkswagen warranty?

Not automatically, but the service must follow Volkswagen’s schedule and use parts of equivalent quality, and you must be able to prove it. Servicing with us records everything in your digital service history, so there is never a question.

What does the ID. battery warranty cover?

Volkswagen guarantees the high-voltage battery for 8 years or 100,000 miles against falling below 70% of its original usable capacity.

What is not covered by the new car warranty?

Wear and tear items such as tyres, brake pads and discs, clutch linings, wiper blades and bulbs, plus damage from accidents, neglect or non-approved modifications.

Can I buy an extended warranty for my Volkswagen?

Yes. Volkswagen Extended Warranty is available from as little as £125 a year in three levels of cover. Register before your current warranty expires to keep cover continuous.

Where do I take my car for a warranty repair?

Any Volkswagen Authorised Repairer – including Camerons Volkswagen in Perth. We diagnose the fault, handle the claim with Volkswagen and fit Genuine Parts.

Does the warranty transfer if I sell the car?

Yes. The new car, battery and Approved Used warranties stay with the car for the remainder of their term.
