Clear findings. Clear next steps.
Red · urgent attention
An item needs urgent attention. We will explain the finding, its implications and the recommended next step.
Amber · plan ahead
An item is likely to need attention soon. Discuss timing and a quotation so you can plan.
Green · all well
No attention is identified for that item during the visual check. This records its condition at the time of inspection.
We will discuss recommended work and any costs with you before it is carried out. The report supports informed decisions; a visual check is not an MOT or a complete fault diagnosis.
What do we look at?
The checks depend on your Volvo’s powertrain and fitted equipment. Open each section for the details.
Under the car

Visible brake pad and disc condition, tyre tread and condition, steering and suspension components, and the exhaust where fitted. We also look for visible signs of leaks or damage. Components that cannot be seen may need a separate investigation.
Under the bonnet

Relevant fluid levels and visible leaks are checked, including brake fluid, coolant and engine oil where applicable. Power steering fluid is relevant only where fitted. Fully electric cars do not have engine oil or an exhaust to inspect.
Outside your Volvo

Exterior lights, front and rear wipers and washers where fitted, and visible body condition. Clear glass and working lights help you see and be seen. Tell us about intermittent faults as well.
Inside your Volvo

Seat belt condition and operation, together with air conditioning performance. Tell us about warning messages, unusual sounds or changes you have noticed so we can advise whether further diagnosis is needed.
Your questions, answered.
Is the Vehicle Health Check free?
Volvo describes a complimentary visual check during visits for service, repair or maintenance. Ask our team to confirm it for your appointment. Any additional diagnosis or repair will be discussed and quoted separately.
Does the check replace an MOT?
No. An MOT is a separate statutory inspection. A visual health check is also different from a full diagnostic investigation.
Will you carry out repairs automatically?
We will explain the findings and seek your agreement to recommended work and costs.
Can I have a check on an electric Volvo?
Yes. The relevant checks are adapted to the car and its equipment; engine oil and exhaust checks do not apply to fully electric models.
Your Volvo. In familiar hands.
Tell us your registration and what you need. Our team will explain the next step, confirm any cost and help arrange your visit.
