One for the Family

If you want the executive styling of the standard Passat with enhanced levels of practicality, the new Volkswagen Passat Estate could be exactly what you’re looking for. This is an upmarket car for all the family.

Executive Design

This extended, four-door Estate boasts handsome good looks, with a longer wheelbase to improve practicality. You can expect a bold front end and distinctive grille to command attention at the front, while sleek 16-inch alloys boost side-on appeal. This model also comes with distinctive trapezoidal headlights as standard for a modern finishing touch.

A long list of optional extras includes bold front fog lights and rear tinted glass, plus door mirrors with puddle lights. You can also add a panoramic sunroof for an additional air of exclusivity.

Sophisticated Luxury

On board, a sophisticated cabin with plenty of space awaits. You can expect class-leading levels of room in the front and back, so all occupants can stretch out. The boot is big, too, with 650 litres of capacity – rising to a massive 1,780 litres when you fold the split-folding rear seats all the way down.

Meanwhile, the ergonomic dashboard ensures a neat and tidy appearance – while also placing the all-important systems at your fingertips. Soft-touch plastics and plush materials provide a refined finishing touch. Upgrade to the range-topping R-Line trim to gain a sporty steering wheel and upholstery, plus firmer suspension.

Power and Motion

A wide engine range includes the entry-level 1.6-litre TDI model, which achieves 118bhp, up to the most powerful twin-turbo 2.0-litre BiTDI (237bhp). The latter manages an impressive 0 to 60mph time over just over six seconds. In between, there are two single-turbo 2.0-litre units with either 148bhp or 187bhp – both of which offer a refined performance.

If you’re looking to go green, there is the option of the frugal plug-in hybrid petrol-electric GTE model. This is the cheapest model to run, and promises up to 177mpg and CO2 emissions as low as 95g/km.

Safe and Sound

The new Volkswagen Passat Estate comes complete with a five-star safety rating from Euro NCAP – so your peace of mind is assured. You get a full set of airbags as standard for all-round coverage, along with intelligent, post-collision braking and tyre-pressure monitoring systems. You can also expect ISOFIX mounting points, which make for safe and simple child-seat installation.
